Yup we’ve been. Overall impression is it’s a lot of fun but not in a serious way. In more detail: Most of the site is in the Hertfordshire hills and quite pleasant - not Green Man beautiful but not a featureless field either. A plus is you can use their swimming pool if you want to and their lawns are always a nice quiet spot to escape to. Slight downside it’s in a dip in the hills so can get a bit boggy if it rains hard. Festival was cash free with wristbands you can charge up - we liked this but might not be to everyone’s liking. Atmosphere - very friendly & happy vibe. Child & family friendly but not to Camp Bestival levels. Some of the child related stuff is good fun like the fancy dress competition, dog show and things like horrible histories. Overall it feels like a big family birthday party/ barbecue. (Also amusing to see the dads who don’t go out much caning it a bit hard of Friday and then struggling on Saturday) Music - lineups are often stronger than you might think. Not deep introspective muso stuff but not Reading & Leeds either - we’ve seen everyone from British Sea Power & Idles to Grace Jones & Gary Numan. Other stuff - not too much other than music goes on - some yoga / spiritual stuff and handicrafts for kids. We found mornings a bit slow. In summary we check the line up every year and will go again if it suits but don’t expect hard core partying.. Thanks Vamboozle! 😊 Doesn’t sound too bad then! That’s definitely me on the Saturday morning by the way 😂😂😂

Having pointed and laughed at middle aged Moz on another thread, I can now confirm the elderly Vamboozles are fully 5G / Wi-fi compliant and looking forward to the season.
We’ve even booked a couple of gigs. (Music not data)

If anyone's looking at that Green Man line up above, doesn't have tickets and now wishes they did now that it has sold out again, then... We're selling ours as we, sadly, can't now go this year. Anyway, 2 x standard weekend tickets. They're on Fanticks here, but if any regular forumer wants them for what we paid in total as earlybird's 2 years ago (minus the Fanticks charge in the link) then drop me a PM. They can also be paid for/picked up directly from Norwich.

Yeah, unfortunately - I'd forgotten about the deadline for both rollovers and refunds, then with being at Latitude and all from last Wednesday to Sunday it just passed...

Does anyone have a view on Camp Bestival? I was considering getting a day ticket for me and two young kids.

Can I just say Green Man sounds amaaaazing! Oh, Im going Oh yeah. It's a cracker of a line up. Unfortunately, due to Layla’s lack of diagnosis, we have took advantage of all this covid shit and had to defer our tickets till next year. Gutted does not cover it.

Thanks guys.
This year has been a bit of a pisser.
Still, we do have Ceremony (1 day fest) in Bedford. And a weekend of non mainstream rock at Portals. And that Slowthai weekend in Northampton. So....it ain't all bad.
Just hope I can rescue the business I was made redundant from....

I've been populating our Green Man clashfinder - fucking hell that Friday is going to be an absolute nightmare to navigate through isn't it? An unbelievable line up, on the main stage alone you've got...
H Hawkline Big Joanie Surfing Magazines Boy Azooga Nadine Shah Django Django Caribou.
And the other stages are all equally strong - at least to my tastes anyway.
The Saturday and Sunday line ups are not so strong, though still decent, but I think we'll be doing a lot of stomping to catch as much as possible on the Friday so maybe a few 'rest periods' might be good!

Thursday isn't shabby either Paul!
Only weakish day for me is Sunday, but still lots for me to see. Friday is a bit stacked though eh?
Think my Friday strategy will be first half of Walled Garden, followed by an evening of Far Out and a mad dash for Boy Azooga. Finished with Charlotte's dungeon.

For me, Green Man similar to Latitude in that the Friday is absolutely stacked, with Saturday and Sunday being a lot thinner. Having seen a number of the acts already at Latitude or FarmFest will potentially help me with some clashes.
I need to do a bit more listening, but acts I'm particularly looking forward to already: Working Men's Club The Lounge Society The Surfing Magazines Boz Azooga Lazarus Kane Shame Porridge Radio

In spite of promises that they were going to learn to live with an endemic virus, Singapore seems to be going backwards.A bunch of sad local businessmen were frequenting KTV Hostess Lounges (illegally) which caused a new spike. So we now have over 100 cases a day and back into partial lockdown.
So still no opening of borders to the expats and other foreign workers. Singaporeans can come and go (with quarantine), and as a Singaporean pimp you could, until recently, bring in foreign "girlfriends" but the 25% of the population that contributes 40% of the taxes are still treated like pariahs.
Meanwhile, whilst law enforcement turned a blind eye to an obvious potential uber spreaders in the organised crime ridden KTV lounges, "safe distance ambassadors" (aka- people who were too nerdy as kids even to be milk monitors) patrol the shopping malls and public squares ruthlessly making sure 12 year old kids on their way to violin classes and maths tuition don't accidentally bump into each other.
So my infuriating summer continues. One by one, the festivals slip by, and still I can't get back. Not seen my kids for near 8 months either.
When you read all those articles in the news about how much better other governments are doing, don't believe the hype!
Still hoping against hope to be back for EOTR and if I can I'd take out a second mortgage for a ticket, but looking increasingly unlikely.
If I sound bitter, it's because I am!

Hang on in there Raffles! It was the 'right' life choice, current circumstances notwithstanding. Hope you can join us all at EOTR, maybe its time for a cocktail zoom?
