I tried for Muse tickets, Eddy, but sold out within seconds.
You'll just have to go on a "Raffles seeks Kate Bush tickets" style campaign.
where there's a will (and a deep pocket) there's always a way.
Lucky hunting mate!

Twitter updates, Eddy! Sign up on twitter for updates from Muse's own feed, the venue's and anyone else you can think of that might be telling you when the next lot are released....that way you'll get to know soonest when they release the next set (they so often announce one or two more dates)! My sister got so many great Olympic and Paralympic tickets that way. Good luck!

I'm a VIP member of Bush Hall. £100 and I get a +1 for every gig plus 2 comedy shows, a meal for 2 at Bush Hall dining rooms, and a free bottle of wine with every meal there. It's such an amazing deal, I'm still not sure I understand why they do it. Does mean I've got quite a few Bush Hall gigs lined up. Currently -
Kings of Convenience Patrick Watson Lo Fang Sarah Cracknall
Have booked for Garbage and McAlmont & Butler at the end of the year.
And have Placebo on Tuesday. Turning into a pretty good year for gigs!

Went to see Sleater Kinney last night and it was bloody great. They played almost all my favourite songs, lots of energy, great to watch the interplay between Carrie and Corin, and Janet is such a good drummer. Pins were good in support, after a slow start, they had a good drummer too. Bumped into BIT50s between sets as well!
Anybody going to see Courtney Barnett in Cambridge in a couple of weeks?

I also have an invite the the 'official aftershow party'. Whatever one of those is. Anyways, I am VERY EXCITED!!!! BUT.....i have a couple of questions....By 'all my favourite songs', what does ths mean? A lot off of 'Dig Me Out' or 'The Woods' (my 2 fave albums)? Or 'Hot Rock' (my least fave)? Also....any from their roit grrl-tastic self titled debut? How long did they play? I NEED DETAILS!!!! Also.....what was the 'merch' like? Are we talking yr bogstandard tees/hoodies? Or something a little.....out of the ordinary? Sorry for hassling......im just.......excited.

I'm trusting my slightly flaky memory here, but there were quite a few from 'The Woods' and a good spread from the rest of the back catalogue. Lots from the new album, obvs. I would have liked a few more from 'All hands on the bad one', but there you go. They played for about 100 minutes (including the wait for the encore).
Merch was some nice design tees and vinyl and maybe a tote bag, but nothing super remarkable. I bought a tee.
I didn't get invited to the aftershow party. BUT THAT'S OK (I had to head home anyway).

Yes, Sleater-Kinney last night was great. Janet was simply terrific. Not sure I've been a little bit in love with a drummer before!
And other stats that I can remember for Moz's benefit. Came on punctually at 9 o'clock. Played about an hour and a quarter, then off for 5 to 10 minutes, the encore was about 20 minutes. I think the T-shirts were £20. As Simon says, nothing particularly remarkable about the merchandise.
Came across Simon doing what I do at gigs - checking the football scores!
And so next up is Courtney Barnett in Bristol on Saturday, which neatly coincides with me picking up my youngest from Uni there for the Easter hols.

It's become tradition that me and a couple of mates do at least one of the teenage cancer trust gigs each year so last night was Paul Weller at the Albert Hall. Top night, didn't spot nigeyboy there though...

My first visit to The Fleece in Bristol last night. Smallish venue, but a good atmosphere inside. Missed the first support act while sampling a stout from the CAMRA pub next door and playing pool with my youngest. Second support act was Spring King, we caught the last few numbers. I thought their name might be Speed King, given the way they went for it - I'd happily go watch them on a small stage at a festival this summer. Headline was Courtney Barnett, who I saw at Field Day last year. Although I have reservations about her vocals and songwriting (a lot of songs tend to sound rather samey), as a power trio (lead, bass, drums), they were very tight and really enjoyable.

OK. Ive just been to 4 gigs in 6 days. If i have time, i will report on them now.
Gig 1. Sleater Kinney @ ABC Glasgow.
This was as great as i'd imagined it to be. All your hits (apart from the Fox) and more. I am SO happy they are back & sounding so vital & rocking as ever. Support was by Pins who i thought were ok. ish. Manda HATED them though. I think mostly for their lack of lyrical originality?!?
Gig 2. Kill It Kid @ King Tuts Glasgow
I was confused by them. When they were playing their (i think 'earlier'?) Grungy stuff, they were great! When they were playing things that were a bit blues-ier, they reminded me of Blueshammer, the 'jock' blues band in Ghost World. Odd. Support was from John J Presley who was a poor mans Jack White.
Gig 3. Universal Thee & How To Swim & Hello Creepy Spider & Miss The Occupier @ Nice N Sleazys Glasgow This was a local (ish) 4 band for £6 thing. You MIGHT recognise How To Swim, as they have been played on the 6 music records and ONE EFF EMM in their time (admitedly a fair few years ago). THey were probably the best of the four, being all art pop with a bit of feyness. VERY good. Special Mention also to Hello Creepy Spider, who were like the White Stripes playing Hives songs and Vic & Bob routines. Really fun & good. Miss The Occupier sounded like indie circa 1995. And Universal Thee sounded like a Pavement cover band.
Gig 4. Marika Hackman @ Craufurd Arms Milton Keynes
The folk lady in a metal pub. It was suprisingly quite busy! She was lovely. Even better though was the support of Sophie Jamieson. All vunerability & fragility, with a Buckley-esqe voice. REALLY good!! Watch out for her or download music from her.
Next up for me is Nick Helm @ The Cannon Newport Pagnell. LETS KICK THIS IN THE DICK!!! Etc...
This is now the end of my report.

Courtney Barnett did put up a great set, I personally like the lyrics and deadpan style but can see where Bitf is coming from. their ability to throw up a wall of noise though is mightily impressive - they really can play. still, surprised to get crowd surfers (okay, about 4) on a Tuesday....in Cambridge
