I really can't say how much this surprises me. Especially as I've had a ticket alert on Twickets to see if cheap tickets came up (they largely didn't) and yet none of the tickets that went on there shifted quickly. In fact the cheapest ones that I put an offer in on then forgot to pay for when they accepted were still on there about 2 weeks later. It might not be a reliable litmus test, but I would have thought there'd have been more turnover if there was such high demand. I thought that, with the rising ticket prices and CoL crisis that it would struggle this year. While I prefer shorter queues, I must say it has felt a bit empty some years, so this might improve the atmosphere at times/fill the site with idiots.
I don't understand what the pull is this year though - in terms of mass appeal, I mean. I would have thought that having Pulp play was the biggest "get" but that's the only day that hasn't sold out. Is Little Georgie Ezra such a big star that people are forking out for that? Him and S.E. Bextor maybe?

All of the tickets on Twickets seem to have sold overnight too. Literally 42 (yes, I counted) on sale on Thursday and only 5 available this morning. I can only think it's the Glastonbury effect tbh.
But it's the most vanilla line-up in years - I'm gutted I won't be going, but that's all to do with atmosphere and it being a summer staple for the past 10 years than the actual line-up.
I hope those of you who are attending have the time of your lives!

I think the Friday is one of my favourite days in a long time and I'm fine with the Saturday. It's a shame that Sunday's a bit of a wimper though. I really don't understand why they don't make the final night a big party so that you leaves with great memories, feeling desperate to come back next year.
I don't know if I've mentioned this but, when I bumped into Melvin on the last night of the festival last year, I asked whether he would want to hear my thoughts on what makes a great Latitude, and he agreed and gave me his e-mail address. Well, I got a bit carried away and wrote about 3,000 words a month later and, even though he never replied, I think he at least read part of it as my closing line was something like, oh, and regardless of whatever else I've just said, the most important thing is that you book Pulp on their reunion tour. I was pretty happy with the outcome.

If anyone sees a spare please shout. kerry1 I'll DM you if I see any pairs going on Twickets etc, hopefully we can double our chances? EDIT: Managed to get one through Ticketmaster. There's a few going on there for RRP or lower, so definitely worth checking regularly if anyone is still searching!

If it's sold out, that kind of reduces the chances of us getting any big name, unless FR booked them in advance to inspire late sales. I guess the big difference between this and many years is the date the festival takes place, easily late enough for families to bring kids.
My five-year-old is mainly looking forward to The Bootleg Beatles, but I guess she's not really tapped into the youth zeitgeist just yet.

Wasn't sure if it'd been mentioned but the apps been unofficially launched, nothing on there yet bar the acts but should probably get the times/itinerary options but it's looking pretty good

Have been brushing up on some acts I didn't know and there's some good stuff. Didn't realise that Creep Show is a John Grant project and 86TVS are Felix & Hugo White.
Do Nothing are on my must see list for sure.

If you use the app it looks as if the stage times have dropped! Now onto the planning

On the two largest stages, on some days there's a half an hour gap between acts for the day, and sometimes 40 minutes for the whole day. Perhaps some room for an extra act?

No, sadly not, they just stagger the two main stages a bit so that you can catch parts of both acts or get some food as they change over. I find it quite handy, actually, but I don't understand why they don't give young comedians or the like a chance to do short sets in between.
I don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet, but it seems that tickets are now available to access/transfer to friends on Ticketmaster. I hope this means more people will be selling unwanted ones on resale sites, as a friend still needs one but won't pay full price! An avalanche of tickets would help that happen.

Do Nothing are on my must see list for sure. Can't tell you anything about Creep Show, but I saw a bit of 86TVs at Brighten The Corners festival a few weeks ago, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Basically take all the dullest bits of The Maccabees, add the drummer from Stereophonics and voila! It was a firm 'no thanks' from this listener! On attendance - I came very close to getting a Friday ticket, but challenges of how to get there and back, plus the fact I absolutely caned cash last month, means I've decided to keep the money in the bank for now.

How are everyone's itineraries looking? Mines pretty busy until the Sunday but by then you're pretty knackered anyways so don't mind a quieter day Mine is currently:
Friday Wasia Project Kerry Godliman Ed Byrne The Murder Capital The Last Dinner Party The Beths/Georgia (clashes mean I'll see half and half) Confidence Man Men I Trust Yard Act Pulp
Saturday The Mysterines Teddy Swims Lightning Seeds Big Moon Fern Brady Bridget Christie Paul Heaton The Kooks Far From Saints Paolo Nutini
Sunday James Picture This Caity Baser Marcus Brigstocke The Proclaimers Mimi Webb Siouxie

It's all a bit weighted towards the Friday.
There is lots of interesting stuff to see in the Sunrise Arena, which will fill a few gaps here and there, but it seems a bit sparse elsewhere. This makes the clashes seem all the worse. Feeling a bit unenthused at present but that will surely pass by the middle of next week...
Friday
Do Nothing Russell Kane/The Murder Capital Last Dinner Party/The Beths Dry Cleaning Gretel Hanlyn/Confidence Man Men I Trust Yard Act Pulp
Saturday
Mysterines Paul Heaton/Don Letts Far From Saints Warmduscher
Sunday
LYR Gwenno Bar Italia Siouxsie/Bob Vylan
