I really only know about five more names on the lineup than the last announcement, but the idea that it's very Radio 2 is bollocks. It's a poppy and indie festival, but there's still far more diversity than you get on Radio2. And for people complaining that there are too many throwbacks, what has come through in the world of indie rock in the last ten years that's big enough to replace the older names? If it was someone like 1975 or Blossoms, it would still be accused of being too Radio 2 or too young. FFS everyone was pissed off when Florence was booked. There is nothing in this announcement that I really love that makes me want to buy a ticket, but I really love the festival, the site, the food, the atmosphere, the stuff I didn't know before I got there and so I will be buying an overpriced weekend pass and bringing as many people along with me as possible. Obviously there is a lot more than the main stage, but the Saturday and Sunday on that couldn't be more radio 2 if it tried.

Yard Act have confirmed they won't clash. Sounds like they will end that stage early so everyone can see Pulp. I'm well happy with the additions. Was only going for Friday and Dry Cleaning, Yard Act, Murder Capital, English Teacher etc are great additions. Friday is very clearly the decent looking day. Not out of the question I'll rock up that day. Friday day ticket looks to be a cracking option. I will however be at Truck as its a lot closer to me and I'm hoping for a full weekend of good music, not just a day (and I've got a ticket for Pulp in Finsbury Park).

There REALLY is a divide between the main stages and the other ones, eh.
That Friday looks mildly decent. And the Sunday away from the main stage (Bootleg Beatles?!? What the actual fuck?!?) looks alright too.
Then you remember. Its £280 plus. In a cost of living crisis. So.....yeah. I was NEVER going to make it at that price anyways. That main stage (apart from Big Moon & Pulp) is turd in a can. So I can feel smug, thinking I won't be missing out.
Apologies for the negativity. Other forum's are available.

Been a bit absent here for a while - looks like the mood is still a bit sulky?
Also, the pant-wetters for James have obviously left the forum 😂
It’s becoming a crackling line-up for me. Some hghlights expected Warmduscher - are worth the money alone - just phenomenal live and really cool New Yorkers (yes my daughter has hung out with them, actually 😉) funky, grungy, a bit dirty and v cool to let your inner dance monkey out Dry Cleaning, Confidence Man (tremendous energy, a party on a stage, never less than a vortex of camp, earworm/funny songs and highest quality showmanship), Yard Act, Murder Capital - altho I feel through Bitf I’ve seen them too often 😘
Sophie Ellis-Bextor will be (un)surprisingly fun on a sunny afternoon, it’s great to see families of all ages singing and dancing together at Latitude (& the nighttime Abba discos would suggest cheese is still fun) Relax people, you’ll be OK if you let go. Paolo Nutini was amazing last time he headlined - so much love in the field for him. Don Letts will be a treat You can’t really place Black Midi on Radio 2, can you? Lime Garden are appealing to me, as is/are N’famady Kouyate - busy with a project so haven’t had time to listen to everything yet.
Yea I want more but it’s only February and who knows. Arts haven’t surfaced yet. There are some irritations but I know how to avoid them and when to shift stages/ have a nap. Not forgetting that site is the best there is. Of course, the sun will shine as it always does in Suffolk.
Yup, today’s announcements bode well for me, feels so much better than the last couple of years (oh who was it that sponsored Latitude, the name’s slipped my mind?)

I'd also like to reiterate my positive response to this lineup to counteract the indifference elsewhere.
My Friday day ticket is shaping up to be one of my best ever festival days. Pulp are clearly all time greats and one of the best live bands I've ever seen. Dry Cleaning and Yard Act are two of my favourite new bands from the last 5 years and both are incredible live. Confidence Man always look great fun live and English Teacher will be really good in The Alcove. Add to that Do Nothing and The Murder Capital who are great earlier in the day options and it's already looking an excellent lineup. There's also cumgirl8 who I know nothing about but the name and picture tells me they should be a must see.

Thanks Kerry for the tip, just looked up the Warmduscher set from Glasto last year, that looks like it will be a lot of fun.
Was having a bad day earlier so was probably a bit down on that announcement but there is some cracking stuff there - Confidence Man, Do Nothing, Connie Constance, Rachel Chinouriri to name but a few.
Some seriously good comedy too.

But, guys! It's bloody 280 nicker plus!!!
Are you all, like, incredibly rich or something? If so, do you like vinyl? I know somewhere you could buy them at low, low prices. ;p
On a positive note...I'm glad the Sunday lunchtime slot is back. And James plus orchestra could be epic...

I know Moz, but as ever, individual gig prices add up really quickly so as my offspring are finding, it balances out well. Six/seven gigs and you’ve got your ticket. Eye-watering, but then so’s switching on the heating, relatively speaking.

Also, the pant-wetters for James have obviously left the forum 😂 Nah I’m still here 😁 However since Larry left and Tim’s voice has completely gone (as he admitted he didn’t look after it during covid - prat) they’ve gone completely crap.

Ah that explains a lot - hopefully enough shoegazers will be happy to accept their reduced state (always good to hung in an orchestra if your voice has gone; well, it’s worked for me) Sorry to not see you two, though - maybe next time 😊 ** actually I’d like to see everyone on here - we used to sheepishly (badumtish) meet up in the early days. Turns out we’re OK, who’d have thought.

Well we went to another festival last year and it better music but that was about it. The organisation compared to latitude was pitful. That said would have been nice to see a few more rock stuff. I've seem the likes of Pigsx7 and Slaves in the past but there seems to be less of that around. I am always torn as I love the festival but it's always me looking for stuff to watch. That said Pulp I adore and my wife loves Mr Nutini, his new album is surprisingly good IMHO. Bon Vylan will be class too. But something like False Advertising or Pigs or maybe Witch Fever dropped in would make a nice diversion. That said if anyone has some suggestions I am open to suggestions... I also have Download to get me through oh and Burn it down lol.

Not sure the addition of an orchestra ever enhances a gig, generally comes across a bit Sting’esque pretentious guff. Although, does sound like the reason here sadly is the vocal challenge.
Pulp, Siouxsie Sioux (?), some bits of under-card and usual strong comedy, but not enough to merit the now very significant cost for us. It is a great site/festival, but the whole food/drink experience is now frighteningly expensive and lots of the alternative offerings (cabaret/film/poetry tent etc) have diminished/gone.
There isn’t a better feeling in the world than that of Thursday evening when the last airbed’s pumped, the first tinny is opened and thumping music wafts in from the arena.. I live in hope that Latitude’s perpetual - big disappoints/big delights - swing-ometer will nudge to the right again, just one more time - [of course perspective could all change with a Saturday night Chemical Bros/FBSlim/Underground type announcement..]
Sure those going will have a great time!
Ps - Rumours that the Saturday afternoon special guest spot will be The National performing ‘Sleep Well Beast’ on washboard and vuvuzela…

I can only think of one example where adding a (sort of) orchestra worked - Sea Power on the Sea of Brass tour and that was a brass band. Otherwise nope not convinced.

Eye-watering, but then so’s switching on the heating, relatively speaking. 7 gigs for £280?!? You need to go to cheaper gigs. I would be going to double that at LEAST. ;P In all honesty, its a valid point. Latitude is good value if you think of ALL the stuff it does, and costing the amount it would be if you watched ALL the things you would see individually. However.....other events are even more value for money. With more of interest for my tastes currently. Course, I think because of kid Mozs medical issues, we MIGHT qualify for a free carers ticket. Which we might try to do next year. And obviously drops the costs down. Its what we are doing for Deer Shed.... But good luck to Latitude and all who sail in her. I still have love for her. x

I have to say the lineup is soooo disappointing. The headliners couldn’t be any more MOR and the average age of the top main stage performers must be well over 40.
I agree there’s some exciting stuff dotted around but there isn’t really anything for younger teenagers like Little Simz or Mavel from previous years
I also don’t understand why there are so few US artists on the list.

Has his voice really gone? It was such an instrument on its own so I'll be gutted if it has..... Well he may have worked on it in the meantime but last time we saw them he was struggling with both the high and the long notes - he was getting the 2 new girls to fill in quite a lot. Also he was going through one of his periodic “being an arse” to the audience phases - complaining we hadn’t learnt the words to the new songs off by heart, moaning about middle class, middle aged, prosperous white folk to an audience broadly consisting of the same, etc. So that probably didn’t help.
