CMAT would be great, she's at 2 other festivals that weekend so is definitely available Worth keeping an eye on anyone else hinting news or anything, the lineup usually looks better once its padded out and day splits are added

Truck festival, y not festival, all absolutely destroying the latitude line up currently be interesting to see what they announce tomorrow as it needs to be big to get over those piss poor headliners…. What I will say is there’s quite a few festivals that have very similar headliners not much variety this year which is a shame not many international headliners either.

Truck festival looks a genuine bargain £175 4 days of music... latitude 3 days over £300 for if you go by the main stage loks a pretty poor line up ..

Worth keeping an eye out for any leaks, lots of festivals posters have been emerging early over the last week or so It'll be interesting to see how much else is added, I'm a big fan of the comedy stage so I'm looking forward to see what else is on there

It wouldn't load but they've teased tomorrow on their Instagram with the names blanked out, we're getting day splits and all stage headliners Looks as if its Friday - Kasabian Saturday- Keane/London Grammar with Keane on first and LG closing Sunday- Duran Duran

Only my opinion obviously but to me this is extremely dull set of headliners compared to other festivals the same weekend hopefully tomorrow will bring a good undercard to warrant the admission price

Just the 1 of my predications in there then - LOL.
From that lineup I'm interested in -
The Vaccines Future Islands Corrine Bailey Rae Swim Deep CMAT Jockstrap The Darkness Baby Queen Ash Marika Hackman
Other than that I'll be doing some research.

Vey pleased with Corinne Bailey Rae and the Zombies. Perplexed by David Duchovny.
But mostly, thrilled that Robin Ince is finally back to restore some order to the speakeasy!

Orbital will be mega. OTher than that.......for me personally its a 'not-as-bad-as-it-has-been-recently-but-still-warrants-a-mild-shoulder-shrug' line up. CERTAINLY not enough to warrant all the pounds it currently costs (and, lets be honest, prices are never reduced, are they?)

Hmm... "Second Stage" instead of BBC Sounds Stage 🤔. Earlier posts surrounding this may have been correct after all.

That's a massive improvement for me, I think I prefer last year's but overall its a decent mix of names (and evidently a lot more to come too) It's always a fabulous weekend so I'll be looking forward to it a lot

It's not that there is nothing there that I like, as I'd be very happy to see Waxahatchee, BC Camplight, CMAT, Orbital, Lankum and Ash. Plus Duran Duran, and Nile Rodgers and some session musicians, will probably be decent.
But overall it's just far too slim pickings for our tastes. That said, it's not that its terrible per se, just not really filled with stuff I like. There is lots of current 'hot bands' in there, some well regarded older stuff, and it is a pretty diverse lineup, but it does feel a little jumbled and I don't know exactly who it is aimed at.
I won't rule out a day ticket visit, depending on what fills out the sunrise and alcove, but not a chance we'll be doing the full weekend.
The thing I like most about that lineup poster is the faded burnt orange colour scheme. I like that a lot.

Todays announcement is a big improvement for me, including BC Camplight, John Cooper Clark, Marika Hackman and Lankum but some of the names on that poster just leave me cold. Shows how narrow minded I am, that I’d probably be more inclined to buy a ticket if there were gaps or TBAs! I might wait and see how my budgets doing before committing.

Looking at previous years there are still a couple more slots to fill on the various stages
Obelisk Friday: 1 slot Saturday: 2 slots Sunday: 1 slot
Tent Friday: 2 slots Saturday: 3 slots Sunday: 1 slot
Plus plenty more on the Sunrise

I think that's a pretty well balanced lineup. It might not be a luxury lineup (a £300 lineup) but I think it covers the bases well.
What I like less about it is the choice of stages for a lot of it. Surely Ash would go down well on Sunrise over a few of the small quiet bands further down the bill. Also, I don't know them well and I know their album is big with critics, but will people really turn up for Lankum as a headliner (especially on a Sunday night) That seems like a gig that could be massively underattended, especially against arguably the biggest band of the weekend. I'm sure they're good, I just assumed they were more the size of a Sunrise headliner, or mid-afternoon band. It's a pretty leftfield booking for Latitude I think - though I don't live in the UK so might not have gauged their popularity right.
I'll go if my family want to, there's not much more to think about, but I do think it's far more diverse and interesting line up than people initially imagined (and the Keane booking suggested!) I hope it's lots of fun for anyone who goes.

Re Lankum - they played an early evening Saturday slot to a huge crowd on the main stage at Green Man last Summer, so definitely have the potential audience, though I'm inclined to agree that the Latitude slot (and who they are up against) is a weird one.

You are right, I think they maybe misplaced as Sunday latitude headliner against the biggest band on the poster at the moment but try getting a ticket for them on the current tour! I’m trying for Bristol at the moment and no chance! Gutted I missed them last year at Green Man
