Just noticed that BBC4 have got the apparently excellent Janis Joplin documentary Janis : Little Girl Blue on this Friday. Janis would be very high on my wish-I-could-have-seen list (probably cue a separate thread when I can work out who would be on the list).

Line Of Duty is THE best British drama of the decade. Well written, superbly acted, daringly shot (2/3rds of the 90 minute finale just shot in an interview room).....I am speechless.

Have to say Eurovision is as cheesy/hilarious/preposterous as ever.
Moz has found the Sunday Lunchtime Slot.

Didn't realise they'd binned the maximum 6 people on stage rule - when did they do that?

I have started Stranger Things finally. Up to eisode 4 (no spoilers....) Its....good. Very good in fact. But, once again, what with all the 'hype' surrounding it, I kinda feel a little.......disappointed..... What i was NOT disappointed with is the new movie/documentary thingy by Adam Curtis. 166 minutes of thoughtful insight into how we are all complicit in allowing authorities to lie to us. It will make yoy VERY sad. In a good way?!? www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p04b183c/adam-curtis-hypernormalisation

shock horror, Woody has watched TV recently.
First: "The night of". Just finished the series, and it is everything good that you'd expect of HBO, taut, moody, real depth and with new or slightly under the radar actors giving excellent performances. Worth 8 hours of your time.. Second: from BBC4, the history of the Roundhouse - real eye opener, and just makes you realise how tenuous is the existence of amazing places we take for granted.

Recently enjoyed Luke Cage, latest season of House of Cards and Westworld. Also really enjoyed the BBC's documentary about skinheads presented by Don Letts.

I also saw that Roundhouse doc which, whilst not having anything new to say, was nonetheless of interest. Stranger Things was.....good. The last couple of episodes descended into fantasy cobblers. But was a good watch, all told.
Things i would recommend are Josh (both series on t' iplayer. Not the most original of concepts, but very funny) and Asian PRovocateur (again, not original. But Romesh is funny enough to pull it off). OH, and ive seen the first 2 series of Taskmaster, which is VERY funny. Dont be put off by it being on Dave....

SO.................
i finished Derek. And i am now gonna discuss it with thoughts that are bang out of date now. Apologies....
I am torn. If you ignored the troubling portrayal of the character Ricky Gervais plays, it is a lovely, poignant & funny look at the life of people in an old peoples home. And Kerry Godliman is SO good as the care home's manager. And yet....the Derek character is problematic. It leaves a slightly nasty taste, and could be seen as being ever so slightly on the wrong side of offensive.....
Yeah.

Lately, I have seen lots. But, of those I saw, these are the things I liked.
The People vs O.J. Simpson :American Crime Story was really good. I particularly enjoyed Mrs Moz not really knowing the details of the case. She knew nothing of the glove or the white bronco.
After that, I figure I'd watch the doc O.J. Simpson: Made In America, thinking it would be an hour. And not realising it's 7 hours of information. But....what a seven hours! Well worthy of its Oscars.
I also caught up with Fleabag, which is melancholic, comedic brilliance. And I've just finished Flaked, which is also quite depressing, in a funny way.

Uncle is fantastic.
Designated survivor
Madame secretary
Travellers is a bit quantum leap meets 12 monkeys.
Shooter is different enough to the film( same premise) to be worth a watch
Daredevil is fantastic, series one especially
And Stranger Things was just strange.
