I'm just about to pop on a mystery CD which has arrived on my doormat... A mystery CD has also arrived today here as well to go with the Christmas CD which arrived on Saturday and which I enjoyed as going to work and back yesterday. So on the assumption that said mystery CDs are the same, what you are listening to today, I will be listening to tomorrow (desperately trying to make this relevant to this thread before someone tells me I've posted this in the wrong thread and it should be under CD swap thingee).

I just listened to my eldest playing Stille Nacht/Silent Night and Mele Kilikimaka as the guitarist for her school concert thingy. Proud Daddy.
(On the downside, I now have to go and read Harry Potter to the wee one - the same Harry Potter books I had to read three years ago. Beats David Walliams (just) but not Roald Dahl (Danny Champion of the World is aces).

It is the law of parenthood that good and bad experiences are in equal measure.
Here's a vid of me and Mr1... (And Latitude stalwarts F&M are better than Adele Dazeem & The BublÄ— any day)

I was listening to Supersilent 12 earlier today. I had to stop eventually. As with any Supersilent album, too much of a good thing and you go absolutely batshit insane.

Liking this. Not exactly Christmassy, but good loud, preferably thrown to a medium-sized TV screen for fullest effect. It appears my choice of site is not supported - brb. ffs this is supposed to be good! I give in, here's the link... vimeo.com/channels/staffpicks/113544877

right, so Mrs RL was doing some ironing (my job normally) and 6music was left on and the channel wasn't changed.
anyway, all this resulted in the comment twenty minutes ago.... "I quite like War on Drugs, have you heard of them?".
I kid you not, we are making progress here. not sure about the destination.

A very familiar story, RL!
One of the downsides of the digital revolution is that one tends to listen to more music on ones own through headphones. When I listened to all music on CDs, it was inevitable that Mrs R would hear the same stuff, so we tended to be into the same things.
Whereas these days, if I were to take, say, the 30 most recent downloaded albums on my iPhone, Mrs R would only have heard about three or four of them.
I did manage to get her along to John Grant this year though (she'd never given him a chance before) and she was blown away by it. And I have managed to wrestle the DominicCummingsisanAsshole radio largely across from Xfm to BBC R6 for most of the weekend. (Still can't get her to leave it on Cerys, sadly)
Work I progress, let's say.

I understand some people find her annoying.
I understand there are still some luddites out there who think white girls shouldn't do rap
But I think this is the catchiest chorus of 2014 and I for one love it.
Especially for Hoppo:

Oh, I give in. What is this poopoo to which you refer? Greenelk mentioned it a while ago, I am feeling left out of the in joke. Replies to saddos anonymous (ish).

okay, so i needed some work shirts and i wanted a decent italian coffee so the other day like idiots we went into Cambridge on stupid sale shopping day.
so i spent twenty minutes on shirts, we then had a lovely hour in Savinos and i then negotiated a further hour and fifteen minutes in FOPP while Mrs RL did 'smalls' shopping in M&S. so i finished in Fopp twenty minutes early, and went for a wander and caught a busker. he was a bit better than alright. yes there is a Ben Howard tendency but his covers suggest a good heart. and he can sing.

I have been trying to work out what you meant by this myself, then read back through my post, and I think I've worked it out. The word poopoo is clearly Moz's way of dealing with our infamous former spammers. ie; it's a standard replacement for a certain other word. Clue- it is the room in our house Mrs R and I spend most (waking) time in and has a radio in it and we used to get lots of spam about them from Indonesian boiler rooms.

Ohhhhhh, now it is making sense, although as a reasonable cook, it is a little disturbing.
Tomorrow I shall mostly be listening to R4, preferably uninterrupted, as they produce the whole of War & Peace. No mortgage required, or reading glasses.

My eldest daughter seems to find the whole concept sooo hilarious it's become a bit of a running joke this week.
"Where's Mum?"/ "I think she's in the DominicCummingsisanAsshole"
"Why is it, at parties, that everyone ends up in the DominicCummingsisanAsshole?"
etc etc

First track revealed off the forthcoming Unthanks album. I seem to have missed this in December, oops. New album should be a good 'un if you like that sort of thing...

A stunning live performance, the album will get a lot of play! I enjoyed him at Latitude last year, but would love to see him with an Orchestra.
