Deeply saddened by the news of Mimi Parker - my heart breaks for Alan.

Totally unrelated to anything musical, but (even though there was an inevitability to it) bless you George Wilson Weir. A very special human being.

Terry fucking Hall! Legend. Specials will be in the forefront of everyone's thoughts when thinking of his legacy (of course it will! Culturally, it was massive! And had tunes to match). For me personally, my highlight was him on MTV'S Most Wanted in 95 (I think), being as dry as a desert and playing his solo material. His album 'Home' was important for me as a budding music fan. Still is. An overlooked classic.

It is so sad, Been there throughout my musical awakenings, hearing the Specials in the charts, Ghost Town as the riots were erupting, then The Fun Boy Three and Colourfield. I also think that his two solo albums are great and saw him at the Hanover Grand at that time. Then The Specials reforming, great Glastonbury set

From Twitter - Steve Mackey, Pulp bassist, dies at 56 after three months in hospital of an undisclosed illness.
Work with Arcade Fire, MIA & Cornershop, too.
Not exactly a good innings.
