Hi Folks, we're about to get the tickets and plan ahead for the festival but this time we want to bring a Motorhome. Please can someone advise on the usual arrival and leaving times? We dont think we'll get there until 7 or 8Pm on the Thursday, what's it like when you arrive at that time? also, we need to get going really sharpish on the Monday . Are we likely to be blocked in, or do they keep routes open to allow people to leave easily?

Hi
Motorhomes are normally allowed in on the Wednesday. By the time you get there on Thursday evening, you will likely be put about as far away from the arena as you can be, but there will definitely be space for you. If you have family camping, this is closer than general campervans.
You won't be blocked in at all, there are always routes left out, lots of people leave Sunday night so you won't have any problems at all.

To be honest, there's not that much difference in being in one of the outer fields - the field location is dwarfed by the huuuge walk in for everyone in general (not family) campervans anyway, so it's kind of relative . Also, the field nearest to camping seems to get semi-randomly filled...last couple of years they've half to two-thirds filled it early, then just seemed to forget about it. Bloke came in late on Thursday last year and there was no one around to park him up, so he was waiting in one of the outer fields before the road down to the "bridge" just looking confused - I told him there was space in the front field, and he just drove in and parked up near the fence (loads of space there still). I suppose what I'm saying is that Thursday late will be fine - I wouldn't worry too much about position, it's not that bigger a deal. Also: we had to leave early the year before last due to an emergency - told the stewards we would be going, but we had no trouble getting straight out (as ruggy said).
