Dry Cleaning were fab, but (despite seeing them twice at festivals) I am finally getting just what Joe Talbot is. F@@@ing IDLES!

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss were very impressive. Will probably watch again on iplayer.
However much as I want to like them, I just don’t get the fuss around Wet Leg. Perfectly ok but no better than a dozen other bands of that type I could mention.

Jesus and Mary Chain - v. Good
And rather oddly I find myself enjoying Billie Eilish - must be turning into a young person

So far seen Wet Leg, Dry Cleaning, bit of Kruangbin and now part through Primal Scream, all of which have been very good.
Earlier had 2 minutes of Sigrid before deciding it was shit (calm down, just my subjective opinion), and 5 minutes of Phoebe Bridgers before switching because the sound mix was absolute pish.
Oh, and a couple of St Etienne, which was well ropey.

Also thought Khruangbin (sp?) were much better than I expected, and quite enjoyed Foals. Not sure Phoebe Bridgers translates onto a John Peel sized space.

Jeez this is a weak on headliner options for a Saturday night. Just me? Currently re watching IDLES as a far better option.

Not really him that's making it that way tbh, its just all a bit plodding. Assumed you'd have been bang up for catching Megan Thee Stallion?

We stopped after Mitski - who was great.
Not always sure about the “legends” headliner slots.
Our set of the weekend so far was Confidence Man - not our sort of music at all but what a joy to watch.

Night be missing something (!) but struggling to find BBC introducing sets, let alone Avalon etc. Catching up a bit today, I like Gabriels and will see at EOTR. Different and class.
And no surprise to anyone who saw them at GM last year (I wasn't a fan til then) but Fontaines are showing themselves as headliner status (imho)

No love for Sam Fender.
Shame. I liked him.
And the shout out for Big Jeff by Idles was a nice touch.
To be honest, I havent seen much. Who has the time?
I also have very conflicting feelings towards Glasters. On the one hand, Im glad it exists. Otherwise no other festival would. And I like festivals. Im also very much OK with it now being one of those cultural phenomenon's like Wimbledon, the bloody ruddy royal family etc.
However....its TOO BIG! It always seems to be about the 'vibe' and other bollocks notions therein. And, it being a cultural phenomenon means everyone concentrates on it when its on. To the detriment of other things. Like buying from The Better Dog. For example.

Yeah, Sam Fender was excellent I thought. Not particularly to my taste in general but clearly a star in the making and future headliner. Could see him headlining a Latitude sized festival next year before making the step up to Glasto/Reading headliner next album cycle.

I'll gladly watch some of the sets, but the extent to which the beeb, and 6 music in particular, wang on about it for the week before AND after is a bit much. No way I'd ever consider going to it though - too big, too many people, and tbh a lineup that doesn't really appeal to me overall these days.

So, late to this discussion but just to say my Saturday night was spent in the Avalon field and then a stroll round a very pleasant "naughty corner". Lamb were brilliant, I just love it when a massive headliner takes all the talking idiots away from a good band. There were definitely too many people in some areas this year so we often ditched what we were planning to see and went exploring for other stuff. It's a shame they don't film at Avalon but it makes it feel more exclusive and special.
Billie was great on Friday (biggest clash night...so unfair) and again, no ar**holes, not sure where they all were. I don't know if it was the fact that everyone was so glad to finally be there but everyone was so happy, even in the heat. From what I have managed to see since we got back the TV coverage has been a bit budget....only parts of sets...I am sure they used to air more whole sets!?

Bee, really pleased it was good weather and lots of stuff to see. There were actually loads of full sets on iPlayer and brilliant full coverage of the five big stages, what was missing for me given the artists I like (and I get your exclusivity point btw) was anything from introducing stage, Avalon etc which they have shown in the past. Band of the weekend for me, who I haven't 'got' live, were IDLES by a street.
